Hello There!

This is my first time with this whole “blog thing”, so please bear with me! I’m thrilled that you have stopped by! I plan to use this blog for multiple purposes including helping you get to know me a little {because I think personal connection is essential for small businesses}, and also to help you navigate the do’s and don’ts of marketing your business both on and offline {because you have enough on your plate and I want to help in my own little way}.

Today I just want to help you get to know me and my journey into this crazy business a little better. I have always had a creative soul, which lead me to the Graphic Design program at Montana State University. It has been a crazy four years, and I will be graduating this May. The goal was always to have my own freelance business, but I figured I would need to work for someone right out of college, and slowly build up my own business. Never in a million years did I think I would get the opportunity to purchase an already successfully run business at only TWENTY YEARS OLD!

When Heather approached me about it, my first thoughts were “I am never going to do this, but I might as well chat with her about it!” I mean I was only 20 and still had a year of school to finish up! It resulted in many sleepless nights and numerous chats with my Mom and Dad and of course my Grammy! {Side note: I never thought Grammy could keep secrets well, but after keeping quiet about me buying a business for MONTHS I will never question her again!} Eventually I came to the conclusion that I would probably never have this opportunity again, and just decided to jump in!

It has been an incredibly seamless transition, and Heather has been the most incredible mentor and supporter. Never once has she left me hanging when I call with 3 million questions and she is always so excited to hear what new things I’ve got going.

Now I’m not saying it has been all rainbows and butterflies, because let’s be honest – learning the ropes of being a new business owner, keeping my side gig Hannah’s Granny Crafts afloat, finishing college, and trying to have time to breathe in between IS REALLY HARD. I just have to remind myself that I am so incredibly bless to not only have this business, but I can’t believe it is something that allows me to be so incredibly flexible with where I want to be – because I’m only 21, I have a lot of travelling left to do! And now I can do it while working!

Anyways, that’s the incredibly short version, and I’m glad you stuck around to listen. Stay tuned for more on the blog soon!
